In light of the loss of Janet McFadden on April 1, Davidson LifeLine, Town of Davidson, and Carolinas HealthCare System invite you to a Community Response; Coping with a Neighborhood Tragedy. There will be two identical gatherings targeted toward downtown business employees and another for the general public. Please join us.

For downtown business employees:

Please join us on:

•    Tuesday, April 19 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at J.J. Wade & Associates located at 12 S. Main Street.

For the first 30 minutes, a local mental health professional will discuss grief, trauma, and coping methods. For the second 30 minutes, participants will break into small discussion groups facilitated by mental health professionals. Resources for private counseling, etc. will be distributed. The final 30 minutes will be for mingling and individual questions and answers with the mental health professionals.

For the general public:

Please join us on Monday, April 18 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Davidson College Presbyterian Church Congregation House located at 208 Concord Road.
The evening will begin with a panel discussion including:

•    a mental health professional,
•    a member of the clergy, and
•    a close friend of Janet McFadden, the woman who lost her life on April 1.

The panel discussion will be followed by a short question and answer session and a small group break-out session, facilitated by mental health professionals. Resources for private counseling, etc. will be distributed.

“All small group break-out sessions will provide time and space for individual and group processing, as well as conversation about healthy coping skills,” said Leslie Willis, the Davidson Parks & Recreation Healthy Living and Wellness Supervisor and Davidson LifeLine board member.  “Mental health professionals and clergy will be available at all events to assist our citizens in need.”
