Citizens Invited to Transportation Open House:
Wednesday, September 7
Citizens are invited to an open house on transportation on Wednesday, September 7 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Davidson Town Hall board room.
Feedback from this open house will help update our Circulation Plan and formulate our multi-modal transportation needs as we develop the Davidson Mobility Plan, one of the goals of our strategic plan. The Davidson Mobility Plan is a comprehensive transportation plan that will help improve circulation around town for our citizens.
As our core values state: “Citizens need to move easily throughout the town and region, so government will provide a variety of options, such as sidewalks, bike paths, greenways, connected streets, and transit” and “Davidson exists in proximity to and is interdependent with other jurisdictions, so we strive for local, regional, state and federal cooperation,” so the creation of the Davidson Mobility Plan is a big priority.
“Our focus is on all modes of transportation: vehicular, pedestrian, bicycle, and local and regional transit,” said Planning Director Jason Burdette. “We plan to look at innovative solutions to the town’s transportation needs, keeping in mind that the population in our entire region is going to grow in the next few decades.”
