Town of Davidson is Awarded
Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
The Town of Davidson is pleased to announce that the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded Davidson the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The CAFR is judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
“The conversion of our financial statements into a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report provides community members with an expanded financial picture of the town,” said Town Manager Jamie Justice. “We are pleased by the work done by Finance Director Piet Swart, Accountant Mary Jo Gardner, and Accounting Technician Katherine Faust to create this comprehensive financial report.”
