Department Overview
The Economic Development Department is responsible for producing several signature events each year: April is for Arts, Concerts on the Green, and Christmas in Davidson. These events highlight Davidson’s core tourism focus of education, art, eco-tourism, and healthy living. These signature events bring visitors to Davidson and increase the economic viability of its businesses.
In 2012, the town completed an Economic Development Strategic Plan (PDF). This plan is the framework for economic development activity. In 2017, a detailed Strategic Plan Matrix was created which shows the town's work plan for the following five years. Quarterly reports highlighting occupancy rates, jobs per capita, and visitor spending are posted on our website to show progress toward these goals.

2. Business Retention and Expansion (BRE)
