Project Status
Under Review: Revision to Approved Plans - Construction Documents. Based on the master plan amended in November 2017 the project team must make minor changes to the Construction Documents in accordance with the amended plan. Grading and infrastructure work, including the finalization of the greenway alignment, will continue in accordance with the previously-approved Construction Documents while these revisions are processed.

- Land Area Addition Approved: On November 14, 2017 the Board of Commissioners reviewed, discussed, and approved the applicant's request for a land area addition, increase in the number of construction/marketing signs permitted, and increase in the number of non-conforming garages located within the development. The plans and conditions are available on the Documents tab.
- Sewer Amendment Approved: On September 13, 2016 the Board of Commissioners reviewed, discussed, and approved the proposed extension and conditions as described in the Staff Analysis (see Documents tab).

Timeline
2017: Conditional Master Plan/Additional Land Area Amendment
- November 14, Board of Commissioners Approval: The Board of Commissioners reviewed, discussed, and approved the applicant's request for a land area addition, increase in the number of construction/marketing signs permitted, and increase in the number of non-conforming garages located within the development. The plans and conditions are available on the Documents tab.
- October 30, Planning Board Review/Recommendation: The Planning Board reviewed the proposal and made a non-binding recommendation to the Board of Commissioners, recommending approval of the land area addition but not approval of the requests for payment reduction, increase in non-conforming garages, or increase in the number of allowed construction signs.
- October 10, Board of Commissioners Public Hearing: The Board of Commissioners held a public hearing on the proposal. No action was taken.
- August 30, Amendment Submitted: The developer submitted an application and plans to add additional land area totaling 1.08 acres to the previously-approved Narrow Passage development. The application also included a request to modify two conditions and add another condition. Further information is available on the Site Info and Documents tabs.
2016: Conditional Master Plan/Sewer Access Amendment
- Sewer Amendment Approved: On September 13, 2016 the Board of Commissioners reviewed, discussed, and approved the proposed extension and conditions as described in the Staff Analysis (see Documents tab).
- Sewer Amendment Submitted: On June 13, 2016 the developer submitted a proposal to extend an existing sewer line into the approved development. The proposal did not include a request to alter the previously-approved project layout, density, or open space requirements. The proposal appeared before the Board of Commissioners on 7/12/16 for a public hearing. The proposal appeared before the Planning Board on 8/29/16 and received a negative recommendation before returning to the Board of Commissioners, who approved the proposal on 9/13/16.
2015: Conditional Master Plan
- Conditional Master Plan Approved by Town of Davidson/Meck. County: The Town of Davidson approved the Narrow Passage site plans on December 11, 2015. Mecklenburg County approved the plans in early 2016.
- Conditional Master Plan Submitted: On August 31, 2015 the developer submitted the proposed site plans, including conditions approved by the Board of Commissioners on August 11, 2015. They were reviewed by Town of Davidson & Mecklenburg County to determine all documentation and development criteria had been met.
- Conditions Approved: The Board of Commissioners approved the conditions governing the Narrow Passage development on August 11, 2015. The site plans must be submitted to the Town of Davidson & Mecklenburg County for final review and approval.
- Board of Commissioners Meeting/Decision: August 11, 2015, Town Hall.
- Planning Board Hearing: June 29th at 6:00 pm, Town Hall.
- Narrow Passage Workshop with practitioner Randall Arendt was held May 18-19 at Town Hall.
- Public Input Session: Held March 16, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
