[ARCHIVED] Town Hires Firm for Comprehensive Plan

The Town of Davidson has selected Rhodeside & Harwell to work with the town to create its first comprehensive plan.

“We are excited to work with Rhodeside & Harwell to create a plan residents can be proud of and excited about,” said Kris Krider, Davidson Planning Director. “This plan is essential for the town and will provide a road map for town government and residents as we look to the future to meet the needs of our citizens.”

The Davidson Comprehensive Plan will reflect on previous planning efforts, create a unified vision for growth, design strategies for responsive and efficient administration of local policies and describe effective communications and partnership opportunities with regional stakeholders. The plan will target innovative models for economic development, needs of an aging population, public art, environmental sustainability and local governance.

Going through the 18-to-24-month process, the plan will include numerous opportunities for public input and data collection with public workshops beginning towards the end of the year

Thirteen proposals were reviewed from consultants throughout the United States and four teams were interviewed. Rhodeside & Harwell’s team includes sub consultants Wade Walker, a town resident who works with Kubilins Transportation Group and Meredith Judy, a former resident and former town planner.

Information and updates about the comprehensive plan will be available on the town’s website.
