1. How do I report a power outage?

Please report power outages directly to your utility provider. In Davidson, this is likely Duke Energy or Energy United.

ONLINE: Customers may also report an outage online at www.duke-energy.com/outages

Energy United

PHONE: Call 1-800-EUNITED (1-800-386-4833) to use Energy United's Automated Support System.

ONLINE: Report an outage online by logging in to your Energy United Account. Customers can also sign up for outage alerts and receive real-time alerts of when power will be restored.

If a customer has information concerning the outage or would prefer to speak with a Customer Care Representative, call 1-800-522-3793.

2. When is my trash/recycle collection day?

3. My trash was not collected today. Who should I call?

The Town of Davidson contracts for garbage and recycling collection through Waste Pro. Use the online form at www.townofdavidson.org/garbageandrecycling for more information or to submit a complaint form.

 

4. What can I recycle?

5. Where do I place my cart on collection days?

Carts should be placed close to the road but should not block sidewalks, bike lanes, and parking areas.

6. I need a new recycling cart and garbage cart. What do I do?

Contact our provider, Waste Pro, by completing the form HERE.

7. There is a huge pothole on my street. Who is responsible for fixing it?

Pothole or service problems: NCDOT is responsible for the primary town streets including: I-77 ramps, Main Street, Grey Road, Concord Road, Davidson-Concord Road, East Rocky River Road, Shearer Road, June Washam Road and Highway 73. Contact them to report a street repair. 

All other streets within the town limits (except those within new developments not yet turned over to the town) belong to the town and are repaired by the town. Use the SeeClickFix module to report the pothole.

8. Can I cut down a tree in my yard?

The Town of Davidson regulates the preservation, planting, and maintenance of trees through the Davidson Planning Ordinance. Section 9, Tree Preservation, Landscaping, & Screening, contains the standards which individual buildings or development projects must meet when they are constructed in Davidson. Updated in 2019, the standards cover:  Who is responsible for administering the ordinance, documentation requirements for landscape plans, what must be preserved, how new trees must be planted, and many other criteria such as construction practices, pruning techniques, and parking lot landscaping. If your landscaping plans include tree removal, make sure you comply with the ordinance and avoid a fine. See the resources below further information:

9. A street light is out on my road. Whom do I call?

Residents can report street light outages directly to: Duke Energy or Energy United: Please include the pole # if possible. 

Please note that Energy United only services Pat Stough Ln., Dembridge Dr. and portions of Pine Rd.

10. How do I report a traffic light outage?

Please visit the SeeClickFix module and submit a report for the outage.
